Russians Excel in World Championship for Disabled in Dresden

All types of medals are won. 

On October 5-14, the 3rd World Team & Individual Championship for the Disabled (ICCD, IPCA, IBCA) took place in Dresden. 71 athletes from 12 countries participated in the event. The Championship turned out to be the strongest one in its history; grandmaster Marcin Tazbir (Poland) headed the staring list. 

The Russian sportsmen showed worthy results. Young players Ilya Lipilin scored 4.5 points out of 7, while Denis Palin and Andrey Tersintsev got 4 points. Adult players’ results: Andrey Obodchuk - 5 points and 2nd place (IPCA), Denis Scherbin - 4.5 points. The Russian team (IPCA) won the 3rd place and all kids of medals: gold - Svetlana Gerasimova (women), silver  - Andrey Obodchuk (IPCA), team bronze - A. Obodchuk, D. Scherbin, A. Tersintsev, and L. Palin.
