Russian Championship Among Village Schoolchildren Finishes in Samara Region

Chess players from Bashkortostan show the best team result. 


The 16th All-Russian individual and team chess competition among schoolchildren living in a rural area is concluded in Samara Oblast. The struggle among teams was tense up to the final round.  

The team from Chishminsky District (Republic of Bashkortostan) headed by I. Baiburin took the first place with 26 points. Chess players from Kunashaksky District (Chelyabinsk Oblast) are half a point behind. The team from Sarmanovsky District (Republic of Tatarstan) is on the third place with 25 points. 

Kamilla Baiburina (Republic of Bashkortostan) won the individual girls' event with 8 points. Ekaterina Poliakova (Rostov Oblast) is second with 7 points. Anna Urzhumtseva (Tula Oblast) won bronze with 6.5 points. 

The winner of individual open tournament is Emir Filatov (Republic of Tatarstan) who scored 8 points. Anatoly Gorovoy (Altai Krai) came second with 7.5 points. Rakhim Karasov (Karachay-Cherkess Republic) took the third place with 7 points. 

Except for the main awards, prizes were given in various age groups. 

The players who had managed to make draws in simultaneous exhibitions with grandmasters and best participants of solving contests were rewarded as well.
