Round Six of European Youth Championships Finishes in Slovakia

The fight for medals heats up.


The sixth round of the European Youth Championships was played on August 7 in Bratislava. Kaan Yagiz Erdogmus (Turkey) is leading the race in the U8 open event with 6 points. The Russians Taimaz Temirbekov, Artem Lebedev, and Prokhor Moskvinov are 1 point behind. Dinara Huseynova (Azerbaijan) is heading the girls' tournament with 6 points. Diana Preobrazhenskaya and Veronika Ryabukhina are 1.5 points behind. 

The Russian Savva Vetokhin has taken the sole lead in the U10 age group with a perfect score. Anna Shukhman and Veronika Iudina (both from Russia) have scored 5.5 points each in the girls' event. 

The U12 open group is headed by Robert Piliposyan from Armenia who has scored 6 points. Leonid Lystsov is trailing by 1.5 points. The Russian Alexandra Shvedova is the sole leader in the U12 girls' event with a perfect score. 

In the U14 open group, Andrey Tsvetkov from Russia has taken the sole lead with 5.5 points. In the girls' tournament, Alisa Nur-Mukhametova (Russia) and Ayan Allahverdiyeva (Azerbaijan) are heading the race with 5.5 points.   

Six players including Stefan Pogosyan (Russia) are leading the U16 open category with 5 points. Patrycja Waszczuk (Poland) has scored 5.5 points in the U16 girls' event. The Russian Tatyana Getman is half a point behind.  

Tor Fredrik Kaasen (Norway) is the leader in the U18 open event with 5.5 points. Tagir Salemgareev and Volodar Murzin are trailing by 1 point. In the girls' tournament, the race is headed by Olga Badelka from Belarus who has got 5.5 points. Ekaterina Goltseva from Russia is half a point behind.
