RCF Supervisory Board Meeting Takes Place in Central Chess Club in Moscow

Budget and calendar plan for 2019 approved.


The RCF Supervisory Boar meeting took place in the Central Chess Club in Moscow on December 15. RCF President Andrey Filatov thanked the meeting's participants for their efforts focused on the development of chess in regions, congratulated them on the upcoming New Year, and wished them big success and new achievements in 2019.  

RCF Executive Director Mark Glukhovsky reported on the Federation's work from December 27, 2017, till December 14, 2018. Complying with the decisions of the Congress, the RCF has activated the work with regional federations: in particular, 74 have passed a procedure of the state accreditation (61 federations were accredited in February) for the time being. Mark Glukhovsky summed up the results of the Russian chess players' performances in various international competitions and told about the most significant chess events in 2019.  

The Supervisory Board approved of the report and considered the Federation's work in 2018 good. The RCF's calendar plan and  budget for 2019 were also approved. The entry and annual membership fees will not be charged in 2019 as before. 

The Board confirmed the composition of the Control and Disciplinary Commission headed by D. Shakhov. The Anti-cheating subcommittee was created as part of the Control and Disciplinary Commission; grandmasters S. Grigoriants, K. Landa, V. Potkin, and D. Dubov have become its members.  

Several documents regulating separate kinds of the RCF's activity were approved as well, namely the Regulations on the Youth Commission, the Regulations on the order of consideration of citizens and organizations' requests to the RCF, and the Regulations on annual prizes for the best teachers who work within the framework of the Chess in Schools project. The Chess Education subcommittee, headed by A. Kostiev, was created as part of the Youth Commission. 

In June 2019, the anniversary 50th final of a popular school team competition "Belaya Ladya", which has become international in the recent years, will be held. Around 600 children are expected to take part in the next final. An extensive additional programme will be organized for them.  

Mark Glukhovsky told about charitable and social programmes of the RCF and the Chess in Schools project, which will be realized in 11 regions of Russia in 2019. RCF Executive Director encouraged the Board members to develop these programmes and projects in their regions more actively. 

The Board supported the suggestion of the Russian senior chess players to nominate M. Arkhangelsky to a position of the Chairman of the Veterans' Commission.
