Ovechkin Wins UMa Cup In Ekaterinburg
134 players attended the event.
The UMa Cup open rapid chess tournament took place in Ekaterinburg. Grandmaster from Tyumen Roman Ovechkin prevailed in the event, surpassing fellow grandmasters Naum Rashkovsky, Leonid Totsky, Andrey Shariyazdanov, and Dmitry Kryakvin.
Both Ovechkin and Kryakvin scored 7.5 points in 9 games, however, Ovechkin's tie-break was superior and gave the player first place. IM Grigory Gusarov from Ekaterinburg finished third.
WGM Tatiana Gladysheva won the women's prize with 5 points.
