Magnus Carlen Takes the Lead in Stavanger

The third round of the Altibox Norway Chess super tournament was played in Stavanger on June 6. 

Magnus Carlsen defeated Alexander Grischuk, Wesley So beat Yu Yangyi, Fabiano Caruana lost to Ding Liren, while Levon Aronian won his game against Shakhriyar Mamedyarov. It is to be reminded that the players get 2 points after winning a classical game. 

Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Viswanathan Anand made a draw and played the Armageddon game which was also drawn. Thus, Anand won 1.5-0.5 as he had the black pieces.

2-4. Levon Aronian, Ding Liren, Wesley So - 4
5. Shakhriyar Mamedyarov - 3.5
6. Yu Yangyi - 3
7. Fabiano Caruana - 2.5
8. Viswanathan Anand - 2
9-10. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Alexander Grischuk - 1.

June 7 is the tournament's free day.
