Kramnik, Nakamura, Nepomniachtchi, Svidler Are Leading in Zurich

Three rounds are played at the Viktor Korchnoi Memorial.

On Friday, April 14, two rounds of so-called neo-classical chess (45 minutes plus 30 second per move) were played at the Kortchnoi Zurich Chess Challenge. 

In the second round, Anand defeated Pelletier, Nakamura defeated Oparin, Kramnik-Nepomniachtchi and Svidler-Gelfand were drawn. 

In the third round, Nepomniachtchi defeated Anand, Svidler won as Black against Nakamura, Gelfand-Kramnik and Pelletier-Oparin were drawn.





Standings after three rounds: Kramnik, Nakamura, Nepomniachtchi, Svidler – 4 points, Gelfand – 3 points, Anand, Oparin – 2 points, Pelletier – 1 point. 

On Saturday, April 15, round 4 and 5 will be played. 

Five players are leading the Kortchnoi Open with three points after three rounds, including the Russian grandmaster Pavel Tregubov.
