Head of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Yevkurov Visited Tower Concord International Festival

A junior tournament Hopes of Northern Caucasus is concluded.

The second International Chess Festival Tower Concord is going on in Nazran, the biggest city of the Republic of Ingushetia. On August 10, the Head of the Republic of Ingushetia Yunus-bek Yevkurov visited the Palace of Culture of Nazran. He greeted young chess players, wished them success in chess and even played a game with one of the participants of a junior tournament Hopes of Northern Caucasus 2017.  

Yunus-bek Yevkurov: "This tournament is the first chess event in the lives of many participants; they are just discovering the world of chess. The present day, chess players of Ingushetia can impress with their serious achievements. I hope that in the near future we will have a strong team which will worthily represent our Republic at the highest level".  

Results of Hopes of Northern Caucasus 2017 (four groups).

Girls U13: 

1. Liana Tsamalaidze (North Ossetia-Alania) - 8.5 points out of 9, 2. Maret Dzaurova (Ingushetia) - 8, 3. Lyudmila Tandelova (North Ossetia-Alania) - 6.

Boys U13:

1. David Tandelov - 7.5 points out of 9, 2. Azamat Gogichev, 3. Arseny Tandelov (all - North Ossetia-Alania) - 7.

Girls U19:

1. Ekaterina Yakushina, 2. Anastasia Kokaeyva (both - North Ossetia-Alania) - 8 points out of 9, 3. Mariam Ilyasova (Ingushetia) - 7.

Boys U19:

1. Bilukhazh Saidov (Chechnya) - 8.5 points of 9, 2. Akhmed Naurbiev (Ingushetia) - 7.5, 3. Narek Melkonyan (Moscow Oblast) - 6.

Boris Gelfand took part in the Closing Ceremony. He also gave answeres to many questions of the young chess players and their coaches. 

The best players have qualified to the All-Russian competition First League. The best participants of the senior age category were rewarded with laptops. Numerous special prizes were granted as well, in particular, many participants got Boris Gelfand's book Positional Decision Making in Chess with the author's autograph.
