Five Rounds of Mikhail Botvinnik Cup Played in Moscow
Belarusians lead, Russians are second.
The fifth round of the Mikhail Botvinnik Open Cup among teams from the CIS countries and Georgia finished in the Cosmos Hotel in Moscow.
The Belarusian team defeated Azerbaijan 4.5-3.5 to strengthen the lead with 27.5 points.
The Russians bested Armenia 5.5-2.5. Alexey Korotylev's team is on the second place with 21.5 points.
Team Georgia, which won the match against Turkmenistan by a narrow margin, is one point behind.
The match Kazakhstan - Kyrgyzstan finished 3.5-4.5, while the encounter Tajikistan - Moldova ended in a draw.
Round 6 pairings:
Georgia - Belarus, Azerbaijan - Russia, Kyrgyzstan - Turkmenistan, Moldova - Armenia, Uzbekistan - Tajikistan.
