European Youth Championships Opened in Bratislava
Most rating favorites won their games in Round 1.
The European Youth Chess Championships among boys and girls under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 years old started in Bratislava on August 2. The Russian delegation is the biggest one consisting of 128 players.
The ECU President Zurab Azmaiparashvili, Tournament Director Eva Repkova and other officials gave speeches during the opening ceremony.
The majority of rating favorites won their games in the first round.
