European Women's Championship Starts in Antalya

Top seed is Aleksandra Goryachkina.


The European Women's Individual Championship with 129 participants from 31 countries begins in Turkey. Russia is represented by 20 players, including Aleksandra Goryachkina, Alina Kashlinskaya, Olga Girya, Polina Shuvalova, Natalija Pogonina, Ananstasia Bodnaruk, Marina Guseva, Evgenija Ovod, Elizaveta Solozhenkina, Anastasiya Protopopova, Elena Tomilova and others.  

The Championship is a qualification event for the next FIDE Women's World Cup. According to the current FIDE regulations and the decision of the ECU Board, 14 players will qualify. The event finishes on April 22.
