Ernesto Inarkiev vs. Wei Yi Match Goes On in Nazran
Chinese grandmaster leads 3.5-1.5.
A traditional chess festival Tower of Concord is going on in Nazran, the biggest city of the Republic of Ingushetia. The main event of the festival is match between a former European champion Ernesto Inarkiev and three-time champion of China Wei Yi. The match consists of 6 games with classical time control and 6 rapid games.
Five games with classical time control have been already played. The fifth game ended in a draw. The score is 3.5-1.5 in favor of Wei Yi. Thus, the Chinese grandmaster won the classical part with one round to go.
The festival is organized by Adi Akhmad sports club, Government of the Republic of Ingushetia, Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Ingushetia, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Ingushetia with support of the Russian Chess Federation and the International School Chess Union.
