Ernesto Inarkiev Takes the Lead in His Match vs. Sergey Karjakin
Tower of Consent international festival takes place in Ingushetia.
The 4th International chess festival Tower of Consent is taking place in Troitskaya village, the Republic of Ingushetia. The State Duma Deputy Alikhan Kharsiev and Minister of Sport of the Republic of Ingushetia Daud Alkhazurov took part in the opening ceremony. A concert was organized for participants and guests.
Grandmasters Sergey Karjakin and Ernesto Inarkiev are playing the match in rapid and blitz as part of the festival. Three rapid games were played on August 2. Two games were drawn but then Ernesto Inarkiev defeated his opponent to take the lead 2-1.
There will be three more rapid games played on August 3 starting from 3 p.m. (Moscow time). The event is broadcast on our website.
The youth team event is taking place alongside the match. 14 teams (each team consists of 4 players) are participating in the event: they are playing in two groups in the preliminary stage.
