Dmitry Jakovenko Wins Russian Cup Final
By defeating Dmitry Kokarev in game 2.
The final of the Russian Cup finished in Khanty-Mansisiyk. In the sedond game of the final match Dmitry Jakovenko took advantage of Dmitry Kokarev’s mistake in the endgame to win the game and the match 1.5-0.5. This is Jakonvenko’s fourth victory of the Russian Cup finals. At the Closing Ceremony, the finalists were congratulated by the Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Ugra Igor Gubkin, while Director of the Ugra Chess Academy Galina Kovalyova said that Khanty-Mansiysk was waiting for chess players to take part in the tournaments.
