9th All-Russian Student Sport Festival Takes Place in Belgorod

Winners of chess competitions are Dmitriy Khegay and Natalija Baryshnikova.

The 9th All-Russian Festival of Student Sport took place in Belgorod on October 2-7. More than 800 students from 30 regions of Russia participated in the festival. The programme included swimming, kettlebell lifting, sambo, ping pong, chess, basketball, multisport competition (GTO), obstacle course, and trivia game. 

Dmitriy Khegay (Siberian Federal University) won the chess competition - 6.5/7. Ivan Volodin (Perm State University) is second with 6 points. Vsevolod Zubkov (Higher School of Economics, Moscow) is half a point behind. 

In the girls’ section, Natalija Baryshnikova (Lobachevsky University, Nizhny Novgorod, 1st place) and Railia Mukhametgaleeva (Kazan Federal University, 2nd place) scored 6 points out of 7. Arina Yarisko (Belgorod National Research University) became third with 5.5 points.
