The traditional Tata Steel Chess festival takes place in Wijk aan Zee on January 13-29. The two main events (Tata Steel Masters and Tata Steel Challengers) are held in a round-robin format with 14 participants. One of the most interesting things about this year's edition of the Masters is yet another head-to-head between World Champion Magnus Carlsen and Vice-World Champion Sergey Karjakin.

The highest rated player of the Tata Steel Challengers is Markus Ragger (Austria, 2697). There is a Russian participant – grandmaster Vladimir Dobrov (2499).

The opening ceremony and drawing of lots are taking place on January 13. 

Playing days: January 14-17, 19-22, 24, 25, 27-29. Rest days: January 18, 23, 26. 5th round of Tata Steel Masters will be played in Rotterdam, 10th round will be played in Haarlem.

All games begin at 3:30 pm msk, except for rounds 5 and 10, which start at 4 pm, and the final round, which starts at 2 pm.
