The second leg of the FIDE Grand Prix Series 2017 is taking place in Moscow’s Central Telegraph building from May 11 till May 21.  

The total prize fund is €130,000. 

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with 18 players. The line-up is: Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France, 2795), Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2786), Anish Giri (Netherlands, 2785), Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan, 2772), Ding Liren (China, 2773), Peter Svidler (Russia, 2755), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia, 2751), Alexander Grischuk (Russia, 2750), Pentala Harikrishna (India, 2750), Michael Adams (2747), Ernesto Inarkiev (Russia, 2727), Boris Gelfand (Israel, 2724), Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan, 2710), Francisco Vallejo Pons (Spain, 2710), Evgeny Tomashevsky (Russia, 2696), Hou Yifan (China, 2652), Saleh Salem (UAE, 2633), Jon Ludvig Hammer (Norway, 2621).

Two best players of the FIDE Grand Prix Series 2017 qualify to the Candidates Tournament 2018.
